Hello everyone! I can’t explain how quickly this program is going by! All the students were shocked to hear that tomorrow is their last day of English Class!

For our English class today, we did another campus scavenger hunt to get students to practice their English more! Students had to talk to UCSD students they saw walking on campus, so it was a great experience for them to push themselves.

Students also had the chance to work on their group presentation topics before they present on Saturday! We had one group change, so the cultural presentations will be on homes, food, music/instruments, schools, and fashion!

We ended the English class with an activity where students decide 10 items they want to bring to an isolated island. The items were all very interesting, and were mainly food!

Students all ate their lunch together and drank lots of water to prepare for our hot day at the Zoo!

At the San Diego Zoo, students walked around the park together in groups with American students. I recommended that all students saw the famous Panda Bears, but they explored at their own pace.

Some groups rode the “Sky-fari” aerial tram that takes you across the Zoo in a matter of minutes. I was able to catch a ride and see beautiful San Diego from above! The wind felt amazing from high up 🙂

Students had such a fun time seeing the animals, but I heard that the giraffes, polar bears, pandas, and the lions were favorites!

It was a very hot day in San Diego and the Zoo is very large, so students were feeling very tired after our visit. Luckily, we went to an Asian Buffet for dinner. Each student ate multiple plates of delicious food. Once again, ice cream was a very popular choice… especially the chocolate ice cream!

Because of our busy day, there were no night activities tonight with our competing teams. Instead, students began their posters for their presentations. We will continue to work on them tomorrow night and during English Class, so I am excited to hear what the students learned!

It is a really amazing experience to see how close these students are becoming after only 10 days! I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be an awesome day because we have a lot of American students joining us! For tomorrow, the night activity winner will be crowned!!! To review, the teams and rankings are:

1st place: Team Chocolate (Sho, Seiya, Mia, and Mika)

2nd place: Team Teen Yellow (Koharu, Goma, Reina, Hazuki)

3rd place: Team Ketchup (Keito, Mai, Ayaka, Saki)

4th place: Team Black Penguin (Noka, Koichiro, Junya, Yuuka, Ami)

Tomorrow, the wait is over and the winner will be decided after our Sports Day!! Who will win?

Thanks for reading and I hope you are excited to find out our winner tomorrow!
